JUNIOR HIGH NEWS
Final Week of Jr. High - Updates on practice and championships 1/17/10
Tuesday: Those of you who practice with the jr. high team, we will see you on Tuesday for practice, 7pm.
Wednesday: 3:15p in Jr. High Cafeteria for pizza/psyche party. Please bring markers to decorate posters.
Thursday: Practice at 7pm.
Saturday: Jr. high auditorium entrance to pick up bus at 11:30am.
*The meet will be over at about 6-6:30pm. If you need to leave early, that is fine. I will need a
note signed by a parent that you are not taking the bus home (this goes for everyone!).
***Please email me if you have ANY questions regarding the last week of swimming!
Those of you who are swimming...please make sure to get plenty of rest this week and eat healthy foods and lots of carbs at the end of the week!
Final update for Saturday, January 16 and Championship meet.
Congratulations, we won the meet tonight 141 to 125...many great swims and best times! Way to go.
A few reminders:
1) Saturdays meet - at the high school (no bus service) and please arrive by 10:30 to stretch and be ready for warm-ups.
2) I will be collecting $4 for the pizza party on Wed. at 3:15 in the Jr. High Cafeteria
3) I will email everyone on Sunday the championship entries. I would love it if everyone could swim...but we are only allowed 3 entries per event...so many of the kids will not be able to be in championships...BUT...we would love it if your child is not swimming that he/she still comes to the meet (wearing Sycamore spiritwear) and cheers for their team! Everyone on the team can take the bus both to and from the meet.
Special Olympics Swim Meet - Saturday, February 13 - at Sycamore High School.
The Sycamore Flying Fish is hosting a swim meet for the Special Olympics on Saturday, Feb. 13th at Sycamore High School. This is a great opportunity to help a wonderful organization!!! They are looking for timers to volunteer from 12:45p-2:45p. If you or your child is interested, please email Meg Keim at

Information for January 8th - 16th

2) Meet on Thursday, Jan. 14 (warm-up 4:30pm , meet 5pm - diving first)

Championship Pizza Psyche Party will be on Wednesday, Jan. 20th (not Friday, Jan. 22nd) because there is no school on Friday! 3:15pm in the cafeteria to eat and make posters. We will be done by 4:30pm.
*** I will be collecting $4.00/swimmer at practice this week and at the meets for the Championship Pizza Psyche Party. ** I would like this paid up front in advance of the party! We will serve pizza, water bottles, chips, veggie tray and a cake. We will be making posters for championships. If you could please send markers with your children for poster making, that would be appreciated. We would really like 100% attendance. The Sandwich Project was only attended by 50% of the team! These non-swimming events are really important for team bonding...and the kids do enjoy them.
***Even if your swimmer is not entered in championships (because we can only take 3 swimmers per event), every member of the team comes to the psyche party and every member of the team is encouraged to attend championships to swim and/or cheer on the team!
I will send out a Championship Meet email next week.
Finally...if your child will not be attending the meet on Thurs., Jan. 14 (due to ski club or other reason), please email me by this Sunday. Remember, in order to compete in Championships, a swimmer must compete in two dual meets.

Thursday - January 7 - Swim Meet vs. Wyoming. Warmups at 4:00, meet at 4:30-5:30 p.m. Diving meet follows with High School swimmers and visiting teams Springboro and Loveland.
Saturday - January 9 - Practice 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Forms -
All forms must be in prior to the first meet against Milford, Dec. 3. 4:30 p.m. wu; 5:00 p.m. meet. Also, pay-to-play fees must be paid by then. You pay online for these fees.
Spirit Wear - 2009-10 hoodie sweatshirt orders due by Tuesday, Dec. 1 to Coach Wolkoff. Cost is $20.00 - cash or check.
Not swimming in the Meet? - Those swimmers still competing in the for their club teams and not swimming in this meet, need to let Coach Wolkoff know asap.
Volunters for Milford Meet - Please be at the High School pool by 4:45 p.m. for meeting.
