Dr. Dan Carl |

Position: Boys & Girls Head Coach - Swimming
|
Dr. Carl - is starting his seventh year of coaching at Sycamore. Prior to coming to Sycamore in September of 2003, he was Head Coach at Valparaiso University in Indiana for nine years. Coach Dan is looking to regain the GMC Championship this year. He looks to a good performance by returning swimmers and a good influx of freshman swimmers. Dr. Carl is an Associate Professor in Exercise Physiology, Dept. of Rehab Sciences at the Univ. of Cincinnati. Dr. Carl is married and has 2 boys and a girl. |

Jack Phipps |

Position: Diving Coach |
Jack Phipps has a long history with Sycamore diving. Jack dove at Sycamore High School for four years. He dove his freshman year at the University of Cincinnati. He also coached Ursuline and Moeller that year. The following year, 1982-83 season, Jack started coaching for Sycamore and has been with us ever since. Jack has taken many divers to the State meet, and has had several State Champions. Jack graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a B. A. in Accounting. He now runs a business in Blue Ash that was started by his Dad. Jack is married and has a son and daughter.

Position: Jr. Varsity Coach |
Mark has been with the Flying Fish as a year-round coach for eight years. Not only has he been a coach, but he has been able to get back into swimming himself by practicing whenever he can with the team. He is currently employed as a Special Education teacher. Mark has been married to his wife Jennifer for 23 years and has two boys at Sycamore H. S., Jamie, a sophomore in college and Tyler a Senior. |

Carol Wolkoff |

Position: Assistant Jr. Varsity Coach and Jr. High Coach |
Carol Wolkoff has an extensive swimming and coaching background. She was a scholarship athlete at Miami University and Ohio University. Carol coached boys and girls high school swimmers while in Cleveland before moving to Cincinnati 12 years ago. Carol returns to coaching the JV team, a position she held from 1996-1998 and also in 2001-2004. She is also the head Jr. High Coach. Carol is also the Head Coach of the BARC Swim Team. Carol is the Aquatic Coordinator at U. C. She is married to David (who is the diving coach for Ursuline) and they have 3 children, Rachel, who is a freshman at U. C., and Jeffrey and Samantha in High School. |

Jaclyn Tameris |

Position: Assistant Jr. High Coach |
Jaclyn returns to Sycamore as a swim coach, having had a very successful four years of swimming and water polo for the Aves. She played water polo all 4 years at University of Indiana and was captain her Jr. and Sr. years.
She graduated with a degree in Public Health Education and minor in Human Development and Family Studies. Currently she is working on a Master in Education at The College of Mt. Saint Joseph. She also has a long term subbing job at Princeton High School, for Lizzie Fellow, last years girls WP Coach. Jaclyn has coached water polo for Milford and was the head girls coach at Princeton this year.
Jaclyn remembers the great tradition that the Jr. High has ov winning championships and hopes they can continue the tradition.

Position: Boys & Girls Head Coach - Water Polo
|
Nicholas is beginning his third year of teaching in the Social Studies Department of the High School. For the past 2 summers Nick has run a summer program for local water polo players. This year he also ran a camp for new players coming up from the Jr. High or thos playing for the first time. This year players were from several different high school. Nick is looking forward to celebrating his first wedding anniversary in October.
Nick played for 4 years in High School in St. Louis, where his team never finished lower than third in the State Championships. In the off season, he played on two different club Teams. One was local, and one traveled to tournaments from Missouri to California.
In college he played at the University of Dayton. While there he worked up to be Captain and Coach of the team. While there, the team made NCAA Nationals in Florida where they finished in 16th place.
Nick is looking forward to both teams returning to state this year.

Position: Assistant Girls Water Polo Coach |
Alexis is returning for her second year at Sycamore. She has been playing water polo for 10 years. She is from Miami, Florida where her High School won 4 state championships while she was there. Alexis was voted State MVP her Senior year. She played 4 years at Brown University, where they were ranked nationally 18th and 20th her junior and senior year. She was also captain her Senior year. She also made Brown's All Ivy Selection in 2008. She also coached at several holiday camps along the East Coast. Currently she is completing her PhD in School Psychology at the University of Cincinnati.

Kam Keeling |

Position: Assistant Boys Water Polo Coach |
Kam Keeling is returning for his second year of coaching for Sycamore. Kam was a member of the Sycamore Varsity Water Polo team and a swimmer for 4 years, graduating in 2009. He will be helping Coach Hellwig as the Assistant Boys Coach. Kam brings many years of experience in water polo, having started playing with River City when he was in fourth grade. Kam is in his sophomore year at UC in education, having switched from Engineering. Kam is majoring in english for secondary education.
