Mark Bernstein - Emory University - maberns@emory.edu  Mark plans on majoring in neuroscience and behavioral biology as a pre-med student.  He has already heard from Emory's swim coach and will have his first team meeting and physical next week.  He wishes the Aves fast swims and a great year and is rooting for them for hold onto the GMC titles.
 
Alphonse Harris - Denison University - 5/13/08  Alphonse swam for the Denison Swim Team this year.  He is sharing his enthusiasm for swimming by coaching the Montgomery Swim and Tennis Club this summer.  harris_a@denison.edu
 
Paige Keefe - Indiana University - pekeefe@indiana.edu.  Paige writes that she really loves IU and is having an amazing time.  She has also joined the club swim team there and is working out when she can.  UPDATE 5/18/08  Paige had a great time at Indiana her first year and really loves it there.  She made some great friends, had great experiences and learned a lot.  This summer she is head swim coach at Montgomery Swim and TennisClub and is also lifeguarding there.

Nicole Hall - 10/1/06 - UPDATE 6/23/08  Nicole leaves July 15 for Sydney, Australia, for a semester at the University of Sydney.  She is an exchange student with the program from Emory College.  She returns to the States on November 28, and will not have to report to Emory until the middle of January, where she will complete the second semester of her Junior year in the Business School at Emory.  email:  nmhall@emory.edu

Megan Brown - (8/22/05)Megan had her wisdom teeth out just before leaving for college.She thought her first couple of days there were awesome.  UPDATE6/24/06  Megan has decided to transfer to Auburn.She will be starting her Sophomore year there in August.  UPDATE 5/18/08  Megan was home for a a couple of weeks this summer.  She is going back to Auburn this summer for summer courses to get back on track to graduate next June.  email :e-mail:Brown65@auburn.edu.

Ben Parker - (9/8/05) - Ben is in the Armed Forces and has started boot camp.E-mails would be greatly appreciated.UPDATE(10/11/05)Ben finished up his training at Ft. Lenerdwood with a specialty in combat construction.He is now a trained combat engineer.He is now at the New Mexico Military Institute earning his commission as a 2nd Lt.His rank now is PFC/Cadet .(UPDATE 1/9/06)Ben was home for Christmas and attended the swim meet at Mason to cheer Sycamore on.He is headed for Alabama for training. UPDATE 4/28/06 Ben has completed Phase I of his US Army Ordnance Training in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.He is now assigned to Eglin AFB, Florida, to complete the 2nd phase of this training.   UPDATE 1/1/07 Ben has been sent to South Korea for a tour of duty.  He stopped in around Thanksgiving time to say hi to everyone at the pool before he left.  His Dad has just sent his address so that anyone who cares to may write him.  PFC Ben Parker, 718th EOD, PSC 303 Box 68, APO AP 96204.  UPDATE 4/5/07  Ben is now serving in South Korea and he turns 20 tomorrow.  Anyone who remembers Ben is asked to send him a birthday greeting on parkerB57@hotmail.com.  You can also call at 1-513-274-4517 and leave a message for him. You may want to congratulate Ben on his promotion to Specialist.  UPDATE  7/11/08  Ben and his Dad came over to Blue Ash Recreation Center to see if he knew any of the coaches or swimmers.  I was the only one around that he knew.  Ben is stationed in California, the Mojave Desert, where it is 110 degrees.  He is not sure where his next deployment will be.  UPDATE 11/21/08  Ben has been promoted to Sergeant.
 
Heath Tameris - (8/26/05)Heath had a great summer swimming.He swam at Sr. Nationals in California and then Jr. Nationals in Arizona in August with best times in his events.He is looking forward to college swimming.(9/8/05)Heath broke his arm in 3 places during dryland training.His workouts consist of all kicking for the next couple of weeks..(11/4/05)Heath reports that his elbow is finally healed and he can now use his arms.His legs should be in great shape, he has been doing only kicking for the past 8 weeks.He is looking forward to a great season since IU is ranked #9 in the country - the first time since 1970 they have been in the top 10.Their conference - the Big 10 - should come down to showdown between Michigan and IU. (UPDATE 1/9/06)Heath spent part of his Christmas in the Bahamas working out with the IU swim team.Indiana will have the home pool advantage when they host the Big 10's in Bloomington February 23 - 25.UPDATE 2/26/06Heath swam in three events in the Big 10 Conference Meet, helping IU win the Big 10 at their home poolHe swam 3 events, finishing 10th in the 100 Breast and 5th in the 200 Breast with lifetime bests in those events as well as the 200 IM. e-mail:Htameris@indiana.edu

Lauren Truax - (8/18/05)Lauren is moving into Miami on August 19.She is planning to play water polo in the spring and hopes to see everyone when they swim Districts at Miami.She also says she is always up for getting e-mails - so feel free to write her!!!   UPDATE 5/28/08   Lauren studied in Europe her First Semester this year and then finished up at Miami for this year.  She has given up coaching and lifeguarding to get a "real" job for the summer.  She is getting a real dose of reality with an 8 - 5 job and inside all day.  e-mail:Truaxla2@muohio.edu

Lauren Bernstein - (9/13/04) Lauren in enjoying Emory University in Atlanta.She loves her classes and even says going to class and doing work is lots of fun.Her major is history and she is finding her classes "amazing and incredibly interesting".Swimming has started and she has found the team to be very friendly.  UPDATE 9/4/06  Lauren has been very active sinher last update.  She traveled to Italy with the swim team, spent her summer as a nanny and swim instructor, and is starting her Junior year is an apartment off campus with two friends.  She also has joined Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.  Her major is still Art History, but she is hoping to go to law school once she graduates.   e-mail:ljberns@learnlink.emory.edu

Greg Bieler - 10/2/04 Greg showed up to at the McLennan Water Polo Tournament to cheer his sister on in a couple of games, especially the Sycamore - UA game.In fact, he and Joey Krone ran the clock for that game.Greg is not playing water polo at Miami, putting all his spare time into the ROTC program which he is thoroughly enjoying.

Allyson Harmon - (10/10/04) Allyson is at Xavier and finding it very challenging.She is majoring in Occupational Therapy with a minor in Psychology.She is playing club water polo with a couple of Milford girls and also playing on an intramural soccer team.Being so close to home, Allyson came to cheer on this years' girls team inthe McLennan Water Polo Tournament.  UPDATE 5/22/08  Allyson finished her undergraduate work in December of 2007, but waited till the May graduation to receive her Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree with a concentration in Occupational Therapy with a minor in gender and diversity.  Since December she has been taking classes for Xavier's Masters of Occupational Therapy program.  She should receive that degree next spring.   Allyson is trying to train for her first triathlon.  She is planning on doing a sprint triathlon for her first attempt in the sport. e-mail:harmonae@xavier.edu

Joey Krone - (10/2/04) Joey came home to watch his sister, Amy, play in the McLennan Water Polo Tournament.Joey even pitched in and helped run the clock for the UA-Sycamore game, along with former teammate Greg Bieler.He seems to like the University Kentucky.  UPDATE 8/13/06 -  Joe left for California  on the 11th.  Joe moved out there to join his mom and sister Amy.  He is planning on attending college out there. 

Courtney Siemer - (9/17/04) is attending The Ohio State University and majoring in International Business.She moved to Mason this summer.  UPDATE 5/9/08  Courtney  has earned a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with majors in Finance and International Business.   The night of graduation she will leave for New Jersey to begin her job at Johnson and Johnson's Financial Leadership Development Program.  It is three-year rotational program and her first rotation will be in a compliance and controls role   She will work there for 8 months and then she will move to her next rotation.    

Rob Truax - (8/16/04) will be studying mechanical engineering at M. I. T.He also will be playing water polo.(8/23/05)Rob will be the starting goalie for the MIT water polo team this year.Also, he is officiallyregistered in themechanical engineering program.  UPDATE 2//15/08  Rob proposed to Elizabeth Stinger, the girl he has been dating since he was a Jr., over winter break.  The wedding is planned for July 18, 2009.  Rob will graduate in June from MIT with a bachelor's in mechanical engineering, but will be staying at MIT as he begins his PhD program, also in mechanical engineering and robotics.  Elizabeth will graduate in May and will look for a teaching job in the Boston area.  UPDATE 5/22/08  Rob's update states that his finance, Elizabeth, has a teaching job in Randolph, Massachusetts.  Rob will be staying at MIT for his PhD program.e-mail:robtruax@mit.edu

Corrie Von Amerongen - (9/16/04) is at the University of Maryland, College Park, majoring in Journalism.She is hoping to be a reporter for the newspaper "The Diamondback". She likes Maryland a lot, even though East Coast schools call "pop" "soda".That's a little hard to get used to.Corrie is looking into their club swimming, but has heard it is almost as competitive as their varsity team!  UPDATE  5/9/08  Corrie has had a great time at the University of Maryland where she is graduating with a double major in Spanish and Public Relations.  Corrie has joined the Peace Corp for two years and will be a health volunteer in Ecuador.  Everyone can keep track of her on her blog www.peacecorrie.blogsport.com.  e-mail:cvanamer@umd.edu

Rachel Wang - (9/2/04)Rachel sends her greetings from sunny and warm North Carolina where she is attending Duke University.She is studying biomedical engineering with a minor in musical performance.She just got voted president of student council and she is very excited about that.Rachel is also on the club swim team.  UPDATE 5/8/08   Rachel graduates form Duke this week with a degree in biomedical engineering.  She will be moving to Atlanta to work for Cryolife, a biotech company, as a project specialist.  Not only is she starting a new job, she will be taking her masters in tissue engineering from GA-Tech and going to Emory business school part time.  Besides the new job and her continuing education plans, she will be planning her wedding which will be in June of 2009.  She engaged to Matt Ericksen who graduated from Duke in political science and from Emory with a law degree.  He is a corporate and civil litigation lawyer in Atlanta.  e-mail: rachel.wang@duke.edu

Suzanne Wight - 9/30/04 - is at Penn State University in State College, Pennsylvania.She has a really heavy course load for her major, Architectural Engineering.She really loves Penn State and wouldn't trade it for any other school.Suzanne is involved in the Women in Engineering program through PSU, and also the residence hall association.But what she is really having fun with is playing intramural flag football with her hall.She looked into the club water polo program, but it conflicted with some of her evening classes.Suzanne hopes to get a house or apartment for next school year. She has been following what her brothers are doing in Sycamore WP.Her oldest brother, Alan, is the boys water polo coach, and younger brother Phil is playing water polo for Sycamore.     UPDATE 5/8/08      Suzanne is graduating with a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from PSU.  She will be working for BPGS, an in-house construction management firm for The Buccini/Pollin Group.  This is a large property management and land development firm in Philadelphia, Wilmington, Baltimore and DC.   Suzanne will start her job in July.  She plans on swimming Masters in Delaware.   e-mail:sew217@psu.edu

Guy Wiener - 8/12/06  -  ran into Guy working at Blue Ash Chili.  He is home from Israel for a couple of months.  He is living in Hafia, Israel and going to college - university - there.  He had been there a couple of months when the fighting broke out.  The university canceled exams and he came home for a couple of months.  He plans on graduating from the university there and then he will join the Israel Army for two more years. 

Jen Witte - (9/16/04) is a Spanish Education Major at Miami University and likes her classes so far.She hopes to be a member of the Ohio Student Education Association.She is really looking forward to sorority rush that will come up right after winter break.Her snail mail address is:200 Porter Hall, 601 S. All mail will be happily accepted.  UPDATE 5/23/08  Jen marched for graduation, but she still has a semester of student teaching left before she is an "official" graduate.  She will be student teaching in Madeira, using her double major in Spanish Education and Latin American Studies.  For the summer she is taking a "mini-minor" at the Summer Business Institute at Miami, an intensive program in business.  Her goal at some point is to be a professor, but before that she is considering several programs to work in.  One is a combo program with the Peace Corps to get her masters, with the goal of working possible with the United Nations or similar organizations that promote peaceful diplomacy.  Jen is looking to use her Spanish in whatever field she ends up in.   email: WitteJL@muohio.edu or jennifer.l.witte@gmail.com

Dani Dimasso - (10/6/03) is at Wright State majoring in Middle Childhood Education and planning to minor in Spanish.She, too, is doing a lot of lifting and is finding the routine very tough.They practice early morning with the lifting and practice 3 hours a day - Monday -Friday, and 4 hours on Saturday.She is already looking forward to their winter break training trip to Largo, Florida.(11/26/05)Dani has switched her major to Integrated Language Arts/English Education.She will be doing her observations and a little student teaching in spring of 2006.She keeping her minor in Spanish, and will move that to a major when she finished with her education degree.Dani is living in an on-campus apartment with another diver and two grad students.Dani was on the academic honor roll for the Horizon League Conference all of last year and hopes to keep up her academic excellence this year.  UPDATE 1/4/07   Dani is in her senior year and back to competing after knee surgery this past summer.  She had a diving accident during practice and she had to have her kneecaps realigned.  She is almost 100% and  is working on new dives she learned over Christmas when they took a training trip to Florida.  Dani is working on a double major of English and Spanish.  She should complete her English degree in March, and then will concentrate on her Spanish degree.  She hopes to be able to spend a semester in Spain after all of that!.  UPDATE 5/9/08   Dani received a 5th year NCAA Academic Scholarship and will complete her Masters Degree in Language Arts this June.  She is student teaching at Fairborn High School near Dayton.  In the Fall of 2007, she coached Miamisburg High School Dive team and 4 divers made it to the District Meet.  She is hoping to get a job in the English Department of a high school and also be able to coach diving.  (e-mail:dimasso.2@wright.edu)

Elspeth Gibb - (2/9/03) - Elspeth is swimming at Ohio University.She was a walk-on and has made the travel team.She is really enjoying the team.  UPDATE 6/14/07  Elspeth graduated from O. U. last week.  She swam all four years for them and was the only swimmer, boy or girl, who swam all r years!  Great accomplishment!  She also received the honor of being nominated by OU as  girl Swimmer of the Year.  Her name was submitted to the MAC Conference as consideration for Swimmer of the Year for the Conference.   A tremendous honor for a girl who started out as a walk on.  This fall Elspeth will start working on a Law Degree at the University of Dayton.

Ryan Klasmeier - (9/21/03) is at Wright State.He has really easy days on Wednesdays and Fridays and likes that a lot!He started practice this week and is looking forward to the season.They do TONS of dryland which is a lot different than what Coach Sullivan had them do.His first meet is in Chicago on November 1. UPDATE9/28/04 Ryan has moved into a condo about 7 minutes from school.He is finding it much nicer than dorm life.He has his own room!!!He finished up last year well academically, and although he is finding this year harder, he hopes to maintain his good standing.Ryan has been practicing for 3 weeks now, and is already at 7,000 yards.Wright State is going for their 7th conference championship, so he figures practice will be much harder this year!  UPDATE 1/6/06 Ryan is back swimming after taking the summer off.He had an internship at GE where he worked under Alan Kelpe's (current Sycamore Senior) dad.He worked on the Joint Strike Fighter engine and really learned a lot.He will be going back there this summer as well.Ryan finished up last year with several best times so is excited to be back swimming this year.He has best times in the 200 fly and 500 free so far this year, and is looking to swim those as Wright State goes for their 8th conference championship, and 4th in a row.  UPDATE 2/22/08   Ryan swam all four years at Wright State and ended his final season with 2 lifetime bests - 4:35 in the 500 and a 1:50.30 in the 200 fly.  He will graduate in June with an engineering degree and will begin work at GE in the Edison Engineering Development Program.  GE will pay for Ryan to continue on to get his Master's degree in Engineering.  He plans on starting that this fall at UC.  UPDATE 11/21/08  Ryan is working at GE in Evendale in their leadership program.  Basically he is learning about the company and works in different departments.  He is also working towards his Masters in Engineering.  (email:  rklasmeire@yahoo.com)
 
  Jaclyn Tameris-(9/25/03)is attending Indiana University.She says her classes are hard but feels she is doing okay with them.Her practices for water polo are from 7 - 10 in the morning.Much better than morning practices at Sycamore!Theyswim, lift and run, and with all the new lifting techniques they are doing, Jaclyn has found muscles she didn't even know she had!The team will travel to Hawaii for spring break.She is pumped for that trip! UPDATE 9/29/0Jaclyn and some of her friends from the dorm last year have a house and she is really happy there.Jaclyn is back into water polo at Indiana.They are doing a lot of running, lifting and swimming so that they can be ready for practice in October.Jaclyn says Indiana Water Polo is looking very good with the players from last year plus some good freshmen recruits.They are looking forward to NCAA's in Michigan in May.  UPDATE 8/31/05  Jaclyn is very happy to be an upperclassman.She has just found out that she has received a leadership award where she will attend the NCAA Conference in October in Chicago.The conference is held to discuss all NCAA sports and what changes will be made to help schools and athletes.  UPDATE 1/9/06  Jaclyn was voted Team Captain for the IU Water Polo Team. This is a big honor for Jaclyn since she is only a Junior. Voting was by coaches and players.They will start playing Water Polo on February 4 against Michigan University.  UPDATE 5/18/08  Jaclyn ran her first marathon - the Flying Pig.  She did well and is now thinking about working towards doing an Ironman Triathlon.  UPDATE 7/7/08   Jaclyn  has a new email address:  (e-mail:jtameris@gmail.com)

Erin Bokulic -is attending Ohio State University.Erin is a Criminology major and History minor, and would like to teach after she graduates.Last year Erin joined Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity and Sarah Olexsey is her "big" sis which is someone who mentors younger members as they learn about fraternity life. ( 10/23/03) Erin had to give up water polo this year because of severe problems with her back.She will undergo surgery on her back on December 10 to fuse some discs in her back.She is a little nervous about the surgery, but feels it will be well worth it if she has less pain.UPDATE 6//25/06Erin has graduated from Ohio State University with a BA in Criminology.While at OSU, Erin was President of Mortar Board Senior Class Honor Society.She was also Vice President of Scholarship for her sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta.This fall Erin is traveling east to attendto law school at New England School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts.She will be studying criminal and juvenile law.(e-mail:bokulic.1@osu.edu)

Carrie Crabill - 6/15/06 - Carrie graduated from Ohio State University with a double major in Strategic Communications and English.This summer she is staying in Columbus to finish an intership with Fahlgren Mortine Public Relations Agency.At the same time she is looking for a job - which she says is exciting and scary - all at the same time.  UPDATE  7/3/107  Carrie is now working in Atlanta, having moved there almost a year ago.  She is working for Trevelino/Keller Communications Grouop, a public relations agency.  There are two other swimmers she has made contact with that live in Atlanta  -  Sarah Steele, 2001 and Lauren Bernstein, 2004.  Carrie is really enjoying the sun and warmth of the south!  UPDATE 2/12/08  Carrie has a new email.  (e-mail:  cwcrabill@yahoo.com
 
 
Greg Jones - is currently at Gannon University majoring in Management Information Systems.Greg played water polo this fall for Gannon, and now is training for the swim team.He has had a couple of meets, and he is doing very well.(Check Swimming Links on the home page and then click on Gannon University to see Greg's times.)Greg says he is having a wonderful time at Gannon, but misses good old Cincinnati a whole lot!UPDATE7/24/03Greg will be transferring to Ohio University this fall.He will be joining brother Mike and sister Liz.He is looking forward to playing water polo with Mike again, and maybe doing some swimming. UPDATE 11/4/03 Greg is "lovin' it" at Ohio U.He has changed to a Computer Science major there.He has started an intramural Four Square Team at Ohio and they play every Friday after 5:00 p.m.Greg just had his first Halloween at OU and says it was a lot of fun.UPDATE 7/20/04Greg has changed his major from Computer Science to Exercise Physiology.After he receives his degree, Greg plans on continuing his education at OU by attending their Physical Therapy school     Greg has taken up running and did the Flying Pig Marathon in May with a time of 3:28.51.He is training now for the Bi-Lo Myrtle Beach Marathon in February.His hope is to qualify for the Boston Marathon.Greg received First Team All Conference honors for water polo, for helping to lead Ohio University to a 2nd place finish in the Ohio Valley Conference Championships.Brother, Mike, received 2nd Team All Conference honors.  UPDATE 11/28/06
Greg did run in the Myrtle Beach Marathon in February with a 3:16, missing the qualifying time for Boston by 6 minutes.  His goal now is to run in the Ocean City Marathon in April of 2007 and attempt to make the 3:10 qualifying time for Boston.  This past summer, Greg participated in the News and Sentinel Half Marathon in Parkersburg, West Virginia.  This is considered the Road Runners Club of America Nation Championship.  Looking forward to graduating after OU's winter quarter, Greg has an an internship at Ignition Athletic Performance Group during his 5 week break after OU's first quarter.  Ignition is located on East Kemper Road and is working towards a program for swimmers to help with their agility, strength training, muscular fitness, stamina to help with their swimming performance.  UPDATE 4/10/07  Greg earned an Honorable Mention All-American for Collegiate Club Water Polo for the 2006 season.  Greg ran in the Ocean City, Maryland marathon again this year in less than favorable conditions.  The temperature was 35 degrees with winds over 20 mph and there was snow the entire race.  In spite of all that, Greg had a personal best of 3:13.28.  He is inching, race by race, to qualify for the Boston Marathon.  He next runs in Erie, Pennsylvania, on September 9.  UPDATE 6/7/07  Greg has been accepted into the graduate program at Ohio University and will start his classes this summer.  His Masters will be in coaching education, and Ohio U. is one of only 5 programs in the country that has this program.  He has also been hired as a Graduate Assistant for the Ping Recreation Center at the University.  Greg has decided not to swim in the Erie Marathon in September, but will run in the Parkersburg Half Marathon instead.  UPDATE 4/29/08  Greg will graduate in early June after finishing his Masters.  He is still looking for a job, but he is keeping busy by organizing an ultra-marathon to be run in Athens.  The focus of the marathon if to raise money for child obesity awareness.   His website for the event is www.athensultra.com.  On a personal note, Greg has met his goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon.  He accomplished this at the Louisville Marathon last week, posting a 3:03 - another personal best for him.  He is looking to run in Boston in 2010.  In the meantime, he has a couple of other marathons and an Ironman he would like to try, before settling in to train for Boston.  UPDATE 5/18/08  Greg ran the Flying Pig 8 days after the Louisville Marathon, not recommended for marathon runners.  He survived it well, and will continue training for more events.  UPDATE 6/1/08  Greg organized and participated in the 55 mile Athens Ultra-Marathon for Child Obesity Awareness.  The entire marathon took 13 hours including breaks.  The actual run/walk took about 9 1/2 hours.  The participants raised $600 for Child Obesity.

UPDATE 2/13/06Kes has been accepted to Lake Erie College ofOsteopathic Medicine.He will be starting there August 1.Needless to say, he is very excited about entering this phase of his life, something he was wanted to do since high school.  UPDATE 8/30/06  Kes is at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pa., AKA Dreary Erie because it rains so much.  After 2 1/2 weeks he is into his 3rd exam.  In July he was commissioned  as an officer in the U. S. Navy.  His summers will be learning all about the Navy, and when he graduates from college he will serve in the Navy for 4 years as a physician.  This past summer he biked and backpacked for 3 weeks in  England  and Europe covering France, Italy, Austria and Germany.  Upon his return, he coached swimming at Hudson High School and really loved it.   UPDATE 11/21/08  Kes is in his third year of med school doing rotations at University Hospitals in Cleveland and for the Navy.  He hopes to be at Bethesda National Naval Medical Center doing a psychiatry rotation in February.  He is undecided if he wants to specialize in Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, or possibly pediatrics.  He is hoping to get Bethesda Naval Center for his residency.  For fun he does triathlons and swims for a masters team. 
 
Erin Bokulic - is attending Ohio State University.She is double majoring in Criminology and History and studying under Pre-Law.She is on the OSU water polo team and having a great time on it.She is also a photographer for OSU's yearbook, Makio.(12/27/01)Last year Erin joined Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity and Sarah Olexsey is her "big" sis which is someone who mentors younger members as they learn about fraternity life. Jill Ursini- is majoring in Exercise Science at George Washington University.This is a premed type of program offered by GW's College of Public Health and Health Sciences.Jill is one of two freshmen women on the team that will graduate a high number of seniors.So far, they are undefeated in conference meets, but they will be facing a full meet schedule when they return from break.Speaking of break, Jill's training trip was to St. Croix Island.Jill states that she did practice hard and participated in a pentathlon while there.She also states that she has a nice tan!Jill feels her swimming is going well, and she is ranked 2nd at GW in the 200 Free and the 200 Fly, and 3rd in the 500 Free.GW's 800 free relay is 2nd in the Atlantic 10 Conference.Her top ranking in the A-10 Conference is in her 200 Fly where she is ranked 10th.The A-10 Conference meet is in Buffalo - (if the snow melts!!!).UPDATE 12/20/02Jill is still swimming, but on a limited basis.She is still fighting problems with her back.However, she has found a lot of other areas to keep her busy.She is working in a volunteer program called Project Health, working with doctors and inner city kids who have asthma.She teaches them good health habits and also swims with them.UPDATE6/6/05Jill has job with a well-known Ear, Nose, Throat firm who has offices in Washington and Maryland.Jill is living with a family in Chevy Chase, Maryland, which is very close to the office she is working in.The family she is living with has a 4 year old boy, so Jill watches him when she comes home from work for 3 hours each night.Jill plans on becoming a physician's assistant, and working this year will give her the clinical experience she needs to apply for the medical courses she needs.  UPDATE 11/18/08  Jill is back in the Cincinnati and working in Fairfield.  (e-mail:ursinij@gmail.com)

Karen Anderson - is entering her sophomore year at Wright State majoring in early education, which is for children in 3rd grad and younger.She is still spending her summers at the Blue Ash Recreation Center as an swim lesson instructor and lifeguard.Karen says that she misses swimming but is about to take up a new sport--fencing.  UPDATE 7/13/07   Karen was married on May 27 to Scott Whitlock, also of the class of 2000.  Their honeymoon was to Cancun, Mexico for eight days.  Karen worked in Dayton at Franklin Montessori, a school in the Dayton City school system.  She had grades 1-3.  Where she will be this fall is still uncertain since the Dayton School Levy failed.  For the summer she is still working at the BARC, but she is now Assistant Pool Manager.  Karen has been with the BARC for ten years.

Lori Bednarchik - worked at the Blue Ash Recreation Center for the summer. She didn't swim much this summer as she was recovering from mono.Lori will attend the University of Maryland and plans to major in Psychology.Not only will classes start on August 30, but Lori will start her training with the Maryland swim team. Her first college meet will be in October, and her parents will travel to Maryland for Parents' Weekend on the 21st of October to see Lori swim.  UPDATE 11/21/08  Lori is a health educator and adjunct professor at San Diego State University.  She got her Masters at Maryland.  She loves San Diego and says it is super fun out there.  Lori is dating Ben Zuber , Sycamore '98, who graduated from the Naval Academy and just got home from Iraq.
 
Kristen Bloomstrom -is attending University of Michigan this year.She is majoring in English and hope to attend law school eventually.Kristen is going to try out for the Women's Water Polo team at Michigan.It is a varsity sport (as of this year) so Kristen is trying out as a walk-on.Good luck, Kristen, and let us know how you do. Justin Herbe - is attending Ohio State University.He played water polo for the University team this fall.Ohio State finished in seventh place at the Big 10 Championships.Justin is in the Army ROTC at Ohio State and has contracted with the Army for four years once he graduates.He plans to go Air Borne or Air Assault when school is finished.UPDATEJustin played water polo again this fall (2001), but they didn't do as well as they had hoped to in the Big Tens.Also this fall, as a member of ROTC, Justin participated in the Ranger Challenge team for the Buckeye BattalionThe competition took place at Fort Knox and all the ROTC programs in colleges from Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee participated.The competition consisted of a 6 mile run with 40 pound backpacks, grenade throwing, a rope bridge and patrol simulations.Out of about 35 teams, Ohio State came in second!!!UPDATEJustin graduated from OSU in June andhas been in the army 7 months as an Infantry 2nd lieutenant.Starting in February, we will attend Ranger school in Anchorage, Alaska.He says that the army and college have NOTHINGin common. Liz Jones  Clemens - Now that my first quarter at Ohio University is under my belt, I can gladly say that I chose the perfect school for me.I left Cincinnati with only a few friends joining me at OU, but I think that has worked out for the best.Not only have I bettered my friendships with my fellow Sycamore graduates, but I have also made many friends who I have so much in common with.My acceptance to OU's Scripp's School of Journalism is what confirmed my enrollment, and I plan to specialize in magazine journalism.I am playing club water polo, which is great!I am not yet ready to abandon the idea of "TEAM" that has been with me for 13 years!All in all, I am very happy and I'd recommend Ohio University to everyone.Come Visit!!! Dan Ketchum - Dan is ranked #1 in the country for the 200 Freestyle.He is tied with Klete Keller for this position.Both boys have a 1:34.99 in the event.Dan swam his race at the Big 10 Championships at the University of Minnesota.Dan has also received the award as the Big 10 Freshman of the Year, an award that has been dominated by Michigan Freshman over the past several years.UPDATEDan had a very successful NCAA meet.He finished 7th in both the 200 Free and 500 Free with times of 1:35.96 and 4:20.10, respectively.He also competed in the mile, finishing 13th with a time of 15:04.01.Dan also was on the 800 Free Relay for Michigan which finished 3rd, and he had a lead-off 200 time of 1:34.90.He also was on the 400 Medley Relay.Following that meet, he went to the USA National Championships and swam the 200 Free.On the basis of that swim, he has qualified to the World University Games in the 200 Free and the 800 Free Relay.UPDATE:Dan placed 3rd in the World University Games in the 200 free with a final time of 1:50.59, slightly over his semi-final race of 1:50.33.Dan was also anchor on the 800 free relay that placed second.UPDATE11/14/02Danwritesthat school is going well, but he is finding the type of engineering he is studying this year not to be of real interest to him.Dan has been having some shoulder problems for about 6 months, but it doesn't seem to be affecting his swimming.This past summer he made the Pan Am Games for 2003, and he is excited about that.This fall his times have been ahead of where he normally is at this time of the year, so he is hoping his shoulder holds up for the season.Dan is excited about this team with the freshmen they recruited, and believes that Michigan has a chance to be in the top five.UPDATE7/9/04Dan has become the firstSycamore swimmer to make an Olympic swimming team.He will be a member of the 800 Free Relay by virtue of his swim in the 200 free in which he placed 5th with a time of 1.48.67 - .77/100 faster than his semi-final swim and his personal best.CONGRATULATIONS, DAN, AND GOOD LUCK IN ATHENS!!!UPDATE 8/19/04Dan was a member of the 4x200 Free relay event.He swam in the prelims of the event.The team went on to win the event and by virtue of his participation in the event, Dan also was presented with a Gold Medal.UPDATE 9/17/04Dan was honored prior to the Sycamore-Colerain football game for his participation and gold medal in the 800 free relay at the Olympics.Dan received a glass plaque etched with the Olympic rings and worded "Aves to Athens, 2004 Olympics, Dan Ketchum, 4x200 Free Relay".In turn, Dan presented an Olympic flag to the school that had been signed by members of the Men's Olympic Team.Dan will end his swimming career by competing in the Short Course Meters World Championships in Indianapolis in October.He will swim in the prelim relay event on October 8.UPDATE 10/09/04Dan finished his swimming career by participating in the Short Course Meters World Championships.He swam both the prelim and finals of the 4 x 200 Free Relay.He led off in the prelims and swam the third leg of the relay for finals.The United States team was in a virtual tie with the Australians when Dan enter the pool and he gave them about a second and a half lead, helping the United States to win the event by a mere 7/100ths.Dan now posses a World Championship Gold Medal and an Olympic Gold Medal.UPDATE 1/29/06Dan was inducted into the Sycamore Hall of Fame on January 28.He finished his Master's program and graduated in December.He is in a training program at GE and is working at the Evendale plant for his first rotation which will be for six months.Also, Dan will be married in June to a girl who was on the Michigan swim team.They will be married in Philadelphia.

Rachel Owens - is attending the University of Tennessee and is in pre-med.There is no girls water polo team at UT, but Rachel was told that if she could get 14 girls to participate, the University would support the team.Rachel is now attempting to find 14 or more girls that would be interested.She is also lifeguarding at the UT pool. Brian Sweeney - is playing water polo for Miami University.He is a goalie for the team, taking the position over from another Sycamore graduate, Jeff Reese, '96.Miami hosted the MAC Championships this weekend, and won their Conference.They will be playing in Nationals in Gainesville, Florida, next weekend.Brian was selected to First Team All Conference as a result of his play.This is quite an honor for a sophomore player.Way to go, Brian.11/03/01

Mandy Commons DiSalle - is at Clemson University majoring in business.Mandy is swimming for Clemson and doing quite well. She is a member of the record setting 200 medley relay. She also has 2 Olympic cuts, in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.Mandy is looking for a cut in the 200 IM at her conference meet (ACC), as well as hoping to get the Clemson record in the breaststroke events.Mandy will be competing at IUPUI in the NCAA's in March and again in August for the trials.Good luck in all your swims, Mandy!!  UPDATE  Mandy stopped in at the GMC League Meet Feb. 3, 2000.She was on break for a weekend from swimming as she gets ready for her ConferenceACC meet.The Conference meet will be held at University of Virginia on the 16-18 of February.Mandy broke the Pool Record for her 100 Breaststroke earlier this year.She is hoping to do very well at her Conference meet.  UPDATE:  Mandy broke her own school record in the 100 Yd. Brooke Jordan - is at Miami University.This summer Brooke joined the Leukemia Team in Training for the Chicago Marathon on October 2.Brooke was running for a little boy named Gavin who has Leukemia.In mid- September, Brooke suffered a stress fracture in her foot, and spent the last five weeks of training for the marathon running in the pool.Although advised not to run, she felt she had such a commitment to this cause that she would at least try it and see how far she could go.Brooke finished the entire 26.2 miles.She said that there were many times she felt she could not continue, but there was always something to keep her going.She ran with two of her sorority sisters and they crossed the finish line together.Brooke raised $3,500 for the fight against Leukemia.Brooke also states that this is an experience that she will never forget!(e-mail:jordanbn@muohio.edu)
 
Andrew Matre - is in the U. S. Army, stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas.He is specializing in Military Intelligence.He was at school the first day (August 29, 2000) to do recruiting for the Army.Andrew did his basic training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina, and then went to Ft. Huachua, Arizona, prior to reporting to Texas.In a recent parade review in which he was part of a honor guard, he received a coin from Major General Thomas, Chief of the Military Intelligence Corps, for exceptional performance.Andrew may be reporting to Kuwait in December.However, he is trying out for the Active Service Army Swim Team, and if he makes that, he will not be deployed to Kuwait.UPDATE 2/5/03Andrew writes that he is married now to a Texas girl, and he hopes to stay in Texas.He has 75 days left in the military, but he is not sure he will be allowed to leave.He is still at Ft. Kristin Stanford - is attending Indiana University on a scholarship for water polo. The girls season is in the spring, so practices this fall have been minimal. After the first of the year, things will pick up tremendously for Kristin, and she is looking forward to actually getting to play.Kristin's major is exercise science.UPDATE 5/2/02Kristen will graduate from Indiana University on May 4.She will start her post graduate study on Monday, May 6, in exercise physiology.  UPDATE 4/06/04  Kristin has completed her Masters Degree from Indiana University, and is working for NASA in California.She is in the Life Sciences Division, the space physiology lab.She interned there the past two summers.She will start her Doctoral program at UCSD in July.Kristin will be in the Biomedical Sciences program with a focus area in Physiology.The program is very intriguing to Kristin as it encompasses cancer biology and genetics.  UPDATE 7/30/04  Kristin is done with her Masters Degree and defended her thesis in May.She is now in San Diego and will attend UCSDfor her PhD, which will be a 5-year program.She again worked for NASA this summer until she moved to San Diego.Her new e-mail:(e-mail:kistanford@alumni.indiana.edu )

Chuck Tyler - is attending Denison University and is a member of the Big Red swimming team.He is still specializing in breaststroke and middle distance free.His major is Economics and his minor is International Studies.UPDATEChuck has given up his swim suit for something different.He joined Denison's crew this fall and they had a very successful season.The first weekend in November they went to a regatta in Atlanta where they raced against 34 schools, mostly Division I.Chuck's boat came in 3rd, and he was very excited about it.They will have another season of racing in the spring.UPDATEReceived a long update from Chuck.He has changed his minor to Communications, his major is the same.He is captain of the men's crew team.The team has been bolstered by some strong freshman and returning crew members who are really committed to see the team be competitive.Check out the web site for crew at www.denison.edu/clubs/crew/.It has mostly last year's information, but there are some pictures.Upcoming for October 27 is a race in Columbus, and then Nov. 3 a race in Atlanta.This past summer Chuck worked at a sailing camp in North Carolina.While there, he coached about a dozen counselors and campers for the Swim the Neuse River competition.The swim was 3 miles across the Neuse River which is near the Intercostal Waterway.Chuck says "it is a dirty, jellyfish laden body, but some of these competitors had been eyeing it since they were young. Alan Wight - is at Ohio University where he is part of the Ohio Bobcat swim team swimming backstroke, of course, and IM.He is looking forward to taper which will be starting soon and he will be going into his first conference meet.Alan has not yet picked a field to major in.UPDATEAlan participated in the MAC Championships held at Miami University.He was 12th in the 100 Back and 18th in the 200 Back.UPDATE 11/9/03Alan graduated from Ohio U in May 2003.He is hoping to travel in Europe next spring with a college buddy, but in the meantime he has accepted a coaching position with Sycamore as Assistant Varsity Coach.Alan says he kind of misses being in the water, but it is fun to remain on the dry side.UPDATE5/05Alan is taking a bike tour which started by his returning to Athens to see friends.He then biked over to the east coast and is seeing friends and family.He actually left his bike in Maryland and took a more conventional way to go see friends in New York City.The trip is doing well.  UPDATE 4/19/08   Alan is coaching a Masters team at UC.  They had a very successful team this year.  UC started with about 5 or 6 swimmers and it is now up to approximately 20.  (e-mail:rawight11@yahoo.com)

Brian Banick - moved to Boston with his family after swimming his freshman year at Sycamore.  He swam with the Fish prior to entering High School.  He is still living in Massachusetts and is now training for triathalons.  He still remembers the cold mornings at the Blue  Ash Rec Center.  Brian is studying to become an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.  10/3/06     UPDATE 10/6/06  Brian attended Ohio State in 1998 as a Aviation major.  One of the things he accomplished there was learning to fly small airplanes.  He decided leave OSU, transferred to University of Vermont and changed his major to German.  After graduating, he lived in Berlin, Germany, working for Fidelity Investments.  Although he liked the job, he had a passion for critical care medicine which he developed at Vermont when he worked as a first responder in the Operating Room in their University Hospital.  After a year in Germany, he returned to the states and worked in the Trauma ICU at University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, where he has been since.    Brian's email is:  (catamounts303@hotmail.com)
 
Antoinette Biddle - just received her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Raymond Walters. She will continue her education at University of Cincinnati and her major will be middle education. In the summer of 1999, Antoinette had her ears pierced and had a really bad experience. The infection was so severe it took over two months to get rid of it and then last summer she had two reconstructive surgeries on her ear. On the bright side, she had a chance to study in Edgehill, England, during the winter of 1999-2000, and met a gentleman to whom she is now engaged. Taylor Lynch Gingue - is a sophomore at Northwestern University and has continued her diving there.As a freshman, she was the first finalist at Big Tens EVER for Northwestern on Platform. She just missed going to NCAA's by coming in third at the NCAA Zone meet. UPDATE  Taylor has decided not to continue with diving but is still at Northwestern.  UPDATE 10/15/06  Taylor was married on August 5, 2006, to Michael Gingue, also a graduate of Northwestern.  Taylor graduated from Northwestern and went onto to get her Masters in Childhood Education at Mercy College in Manhattan, graduating in May 2006.   She is currently working at Public School 114 in the Bronx.  Her husband is also employed in New York as a financial planner and analyst.  They will live in New York City. 
 
 
 
Matt Olexsey - stopped in at the High School September 25, and he looks great!He is recovering quickly from his accident this summer and has even returned to Eastern Michigan.He would like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Neil Ford, Jeff Clemens and Garrett Wright for helping him that night and for being around all summer for him.He is still finding some things a little difficult to do, but he is making improvement every day.In fact, he played one quarter of a water polo game at Miami this past weekend.He found he wasn't in the greatest of shape, but it was a huge step for him in his recovery. Lauren Schlegel - is attending Indiana University majoring in Apparel Merchandising with a minor in Business.Lauren is in Chi Omega sorority and recently was elected to their executive board.She is also in the Indiana University Student Foundation and the Apparel Merchandising Organization.Her summer plans are not complete, but she will either be in San Francisco interning or in London for 6 weeks studying. UPDATELauren is spending a month at home this summer and is leaving the first of June to go to New York City and intern atMacy's.UPDATE12/17/01Lauren has a job waiting for her when she graduates in May.She will be an Assistant Buyer for Macy's in New York City.This came out of her internship this past summer.She is planning on living in the city, but she won't be close to where the Twin Towers were.She is planning on spending the summer in Cincinnati, and moving to New York in late August or early September.UPDATE 12/17/03 Lauren is an Assistant Buyer of Junior Dresses at Macy's East and loving it.She ran the New York Marathon in November and found it an amazing experience.She started running in college and has done a lot of running since moving to N. Cheryl Ursini Phillabaum - graduated from Mt. St. Joesph in 2002 .  She had a job as a Marketing and Product Manager, but  left that job in 2005 because she was doing too much traveling and wanted to be home more.   Cheryl was married on July  1, 2006, to Jason Phillabaum, an assistant prosecutor for Butler County.  They are living in West Chester with their 3 dogs.  They are building a new house also in West Chester.  Cheryl is studying for her Real Estate license which she hopes to have in the next few months.    8/21/06   UPDATE 11/21/08Cheryl has a 1 year old son.  She has opened up a daycare center in West Chester that is doing very well.  email:  clphillabaum@yahoo. com

Mary Kate Dick - is going into her fourth year at UC in the five year Graphic Design program at the college of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning.She has had internships the past two summers.Last summer and winter she worked at the City of Cincinnati's Design Department, doing signage and printwork with their design team.This summer, (2000), she has worked in Baltimore, Maryland for a large design firm called RTKL. Monica Ford - has been a busy girl since graduation from high school.She was as Miami for one year in zoology, and graduated from UC in nursing.She worked at Christ Hospital for a year on the renal transplant floor, but didn't like that too well.So she decided to visit family in Hawaii - where she decided to stay and go back to school at the University of Hawaii where she is studying to be a nurse practioner in family health.Monica has become a "surfer girl".When not working at the Queens Medical Center, she can be found surfing day or night (full moon only).She also has become interested in triathlons and is competing as part of the University's triathlon team.She plans on finishing her degree by the end of this year.3/24/04UPDATE3/28/05Monica is still living and working in Hawaii.She graduated as a nurse practioner in December, but hasn't taken her test yet.Work is busy, and sleep and work are taking up most of her time.She still surfs, but has broken ribs right now, due to a recent accident.Monica's parents will be moving to Michigan in June.Mr. Ford was transferred there about 2 years ago, and Mrs. Ford is getting ready to put the house on the market.(e-mail:chunkimo2@hotmail.com)

Ken Huber - graduated from Ohio University with a BS in Electrical Engineering.While there he played water polo for four years, 2 with Jeff Clemens, '99.Ken is working as a Process Control Engineer for AK Steel in Middletown.He recently got engaged to Lori Montgomery, a fellow OU Alumna.Loriwas a journalism major is currently working for the Dan Beard Council/Boy Scouts of America doing Public Relations. Jason Preglow - UPDATE 11/16/00-Jason is still swimming at Albion and he is really excited about his senior year.He is swimming the 100 and 200 fly, and fly on the medley relay.He thinks he has a shot at making the Championships in both events, as well as getting his National cut in those evens.Good luck, Jason! ....has been at Albion College for 3 years, having spent his freshman year at Hartwick College in New York.He is working on a degree in Computer Science. Beth Wells Atnip - is a junior at University of Kentucky with a major in kineisiology and a minor in business.She has a scholoarship to play soccer and had her most successful year yet as a goalkeeper.Beth was names as an all-tournament player at the UK Tournament.Beth was instrumental in helping Kentucky go on a 15 game winning streak, and also to attain second round of the NCAA tournament.She was red-shirted her sophomore year so will be staying an extra semester to fulfill her eligibility.After graduation, Beth hopes to continue her education by getting a Masters in exercise science and then continue on in the same field to get her PhD. Mandy Willmann - is a junior at Ball State University in their nursing program.Mandy has given up the water for running and just completed the Thanksgiving Day 10K run here in Cincinnati.UPDATE 2/27/03Mandy graduated from Ball State in 2001 with a Bachelor's in Nursing.Her first job was in Muncie, Indiana, at the Ball Memorial Hospital in ICU step-down unit.She then moved to Denver, Colorado, to work as a traveling nurse for the University of Colorado Hospital.Her contract will be up in September and she is not sure what she will do then.Mandy took up skiing, but had an accident on the slopes in January, 2003, and will not be able to ski the rest of this season.To rehab, she has found herself back in the pool training with the Master's Swim Team at the University of Denver.Mandy's other interest is being a Jr. High Girls Youth Leader at her church.UPDATE 10/19/04Mandy is home for three months working at University Hospital.She works for an agency that places her in hospitals in any place she would like to go.She stayed out in Colorado until this fall, and she is thinking she will probably go back there at the start of next year.

Rolland Colon - is living in Mission Viejo, California,where his family was transferred to several years ago.Rolland completed two years at Miami and then worked in construction for a while, and is now back in a community college, Saddleback College, trying to finish up a degree in secondary education.UPDATE7/31/01 Rolland decided not to continue at Saddleback College, and is now working for Balboa Capital, the largest privately held leasing company in the U. Melissa Neal - graduated from Indiana University with degrees in Computer Information Systems and Western European Studies and is now living in Colorado Springs and is employed as a web engineer for Agilent Technologies.While in college, Melissa spent 6 months studying and working in London.After one year of playing water polo, she traded in the swim suit for some climbing gear.After graduation, Melissa celebrated her last summer before becoming a "real person" by traveling and climbing throughout Spain.When not at work, she is usually found hanging half-way up the side of any given mountain. UPDATE 7/26/02  Melissa is now living in Boulder, Colorado, and is still working for Agilent Technologies as in IT Engineer.She is still climbing a lot and enjoying the beautiful West.Melissa is currently training for the Chicago Marathon, and will be participating in her first Iron-Man triathlon in August.  UPDATE 12/5/02 Melissa had a great time in the Chicago Marathon, and she hopes to get more in this year.She is also training for a triathlon and has picked up Sponsorship and will be competing on the Fleet Feet-Boulder team for the 2003 season.Melissa will be home during the Christmas holiday this year. Dave Scarborough - UPDATE 11/16/00 -Dave wrote a quick note before leaving for the field in the second-to-last phase of training.He is looking forward to joining the Masters Swim program at his base.He says that although he hasn't done any "normal" training, he feels his training for the SERE program has kept him in shape.UPDATE - 8/25/00 Dave sent a very extensive e-mail about his training in the SERE program.He has gone through three "official" phases of training:One was the familiarization phase learning basics;two was the mobile phase where he learned everything there was to know about navigation.That phase culminated by climbing Calispell Peak, 6855 feet, with 60 pound backpacks.The third phase was the desert phase to the center of Washington, just east of the Cascades.The first 36 hours the instructors took all of their water so that they could experience real dehydration.While there, Dave caught a small rattlesnake.He doesn't give us the whole detail, but says the skin is drying in his room.He is now in the medical phase.Histraining and experiences at the BARC have helped him here.This unit also incorporated Roughland Evacuation and Rock Climbing which he will be doing next week.After that he looks forward to phases in Coastal/Tropics, Evasion, Teaching Techniques and Arctic. Dave left Butler University in February and went into the Air Force in the SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape) program.Davecompleted is Basic Training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio and received the Honor Graduate Award and Ribbon which only about 10% of basic trainees receive. Heis now in Spokane, Washington, where he will begin his training as an instructor in the SERE program in July.There are only 350 instructors in this program which is physically and mentally demanding , and Dave feels he is very lucky to be in the program.Once he has completed this part of his training, he hopes to continue with college and get a degree which will then allow him to become an officer in the Air Force.UPDATE 4/17/03 Dave is now stationed at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida.He is teaching Parachuting Water Survival for the Air Force.He is teaching pilots how to parachute into the ocean and how to survive in that situation.He is slated to go through Basic Airborne School where he will qualify to jump from aircraft.While he was still at Fairchild AFB, he received an Air Force Achievement Medal for spotting, responding and fighting a forest fire.He also got a good Conduct Medal for being in the service for 3 years.UPDATE2/16/05Got an e-mail from Dave in Pensacola.He is getting ready to be deployed in a couple of months - probably around October or November..He is looking forward to putting into practice some of the things he has been teaching others.He will be home the 6-11th of March, before he leaves.Dave has been dating Mandy Keller ( '98) for about a year, and she is planning on moving to Pensacola to get her MBA at University of Western Florida.This was all planned before Dave received his orders.Dave is back to bike riding, and last summer he rode across Iowa (which he says is definitely not flat) with the Air Force Cycling Team.He will be doing it again this summer too.  UPDATE 5/26/06   Dave has been sent to a new assignment in Utah.He and Mandy just moved there and they are busy getting settled in, as well as getting ready for the wedding.Dave and Mandy Keller will be married on July 8 in Montgomery. Sarah Vogler - went to Ohio State University for a year and then transferred to Gannon University in Erie, Pa., to finish up her undergraduate degree in pre-med/Biology.While at Gannon she participated in varsity sports in cross country and swimming.She was also a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority.Sarah graduated from Gannon in May with a BS in biology and has just learned she was accepted at the University of Cincinnati Medical School which she will start in the fall.Congratulations and good luck, Sarah! Jason Wickes -  9/16/03   graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with 3 degrees:a BS in both Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, and a Masters in Business Administration.In college he was active in his fraternity, honoraries, student government, community service, Swimming and Water Polo.His Senior year his team traveled to Seattle, Washington, for the Collegiate Club Championships.The last game on the schedule was against Miami University whose goalie was ex-Sycamore teammate Jeff Reese.Miami won, but Jason got two goals past Jeff!I Guess Jeff didn't mind too much, Jason was an usher at Jeff and Julie's wedding.After college Jason moved to San Diego and is doing a myriad of things.He is currently owner and partner of battlemonkey.net - an online media broadcasting company.He has started his own bodyworking practice and is over halfway to earning his Holistic Health Practitioner license for the State of California.He is working in a health clinic but also opened his own studio in February 2003.Jason is not married, but is currently dating a yoga instructor and former swimmer.In the little spare time he has left, he is swimming to stay in shape for the San Diego Shores Master's water polo team.Jason passes on a big "Hello" to all his friends and former teammates.  UPDATE 6/30/07  Jason was married on April 28, 2007 to Eileen Yano in San Diego, California.  The ceremony was on the cliffs over looking the ocean.  News came from Dan King who was married in September  (See Dan King above.  (e-mail:jtwickes@battlemonkey.net)

Frank Lichtenberger - went to the University of Miami and swam for four years.As a junior he was "most improved" for the team, and as a senior he was voted team captain.Frank received a special honor from the University in 1999 when he was presented with the University of Miami Target/Big East Scholoar Athlete of the year.While at Miami, Frank qualified to Sr. Nationals with his 200 free and 400 medley relay.The 200 free relay set a school record.In his senior year, Frank took second in the Big East Conference in the 100 Breaststroke and qualified to Sr. Nationals in that stroke and the 50 free.Frank is currently attending Ohio State University Medical School.UPDATE 12/05/02 Frank is in his fourth year of the MD/PhD program at Ohio State, researching Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.He plans of being done with the program in June of 2006.Frank states he "kind-of played" water polo for Ohio State's Club Team.Check out Frank's, new e-mail.UPDATE5/26/06Frank has graduated from Ohio State with his MD/PhD.(e-mail: lichtenberger-1medctr.ohio-state.edu)

Kristi Page - went to Ball State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science-Nursing in 1999.She came back to Cincinnati and worked at Christ Hospital for 1 1/2 years, and since then she has been a "traveling nurse".Kristi has worked in emergency rooms in Columbus, Ohio; Memphis, Tennessee;Savannah, Georgia, and is now in New York City.During the summers she takes a break from nursing and has worked at summer camps as a ropes instructor and a leadership adventures counselor.Kristi says she enjoys getting to live in different states and she is having a wonderful experience.(e-mail:Theta95@aol.com)9/6/02

Dan Costura - graduated from Ball State with a BS in History and a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture in 1999. While there, he played water polo for three years, and helped the team various years as captain, vice-president and president of the Water Polo Club.He is now at Cornell University working towards his Masters in Landscape Architecture. Dan's goal is to teach Landscape Architecture at the University level.His summer work for three years was working at an archaeological site in Madison, Indiana.  UPDATE 8/30/06   Dan is living in  Ithaca, New York, where he is attending and teaching at Cornell University.  Dan is working on his PhD in Anthropology with a focus on Archaeology, after already having one Masters in Landscape Architecture, which he received in 2002.  He is teaching a course this semester and also co-directing an archaeological dig.  Dan got married August 1, 2004, to Maureen who is also working on her PhD in Anthropology/Archaeology.  Together they have done quite a bit of traveling - Ireland, Canada, England, Honduras and Italy.  While in Honduras, Dan got his Open Water Diver PADA Certification.  In England he spent time with his brother, Dave, (Class  of '91)  who lives in Bourne.   Dan and his wife Maureen enjoy cooking, and Dan is into making furniture for the remodeling efforts on the house, while Mo does the gardening.  If anyone  has any information on Scott Erdmann, could you let Dan know.  (mailto:dlc33@cornell.edu)

Mike Dick - graduated from Ohio State in 1998 with a BA in Political Science.While at Ohio State, Mike was Vice Presidnet of the Mortar Board Senior National Honor Society, Commander of the Army ROTC detachment and also involved in the Officer's Christian Fellowship and Campus Crusade. He graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry.From Ohio State, Mike went directly to Ft. Benning where he was a platoon leader in the 101st Airborne Division, Ft. Campbell, Kentucky.Since then, Mike has been promoted to First Lieutenant and isRanger, Airborne, and Air Assault qualified and is in charge of a battalion Reconnaissance (Scout) Platoon.He says the Platoon are the eyes, ears and sniper capability for the Battalion.Mike will be leaving for Kosovo very soon.Since he will be out of the country, he would like to hear from other Alumni.Good Luck, Mike!!UPDATE 6/26/02Mike is now a captain in the U. Liz Neal Messerschmitt - graduated from Miami University in 1998 with a degree in elementary education.She has been employed in the Mason school district since then, working at Western Row Elementary school. John Hilb - (stopped in at the pool) - graduated from Auburn University in 1998.He is working for Target Stores in the transportation management and logistics and physical distribution.He has moved around a lot, but each move has meant a promotion, so he feels very fortunate.He has spent the last four months in New York on a training program and has been put in charge of a Distribution Center in Huntsville, Alabama.So he and his family will be moving there soon.In fact, while he was on the training program he found out about his newest promotion, and his wife bought a house that he hasn't even seen yet.Not only that, John didn't even know the address.John, and his wife Natalie, have two girls.Rachel is 2 years old, and Anna is 8 months.The best way to get in contact with John right now is through is mobile phone (256-962-0675).

Doug Huber- graduated in 1997 from The Ohio State University where he was an ROTC cadet and journalism major.Doug was commissioned in the U. S. Army as a second lieutenant and was stationed in Baumholder, Germany, for three years.While there, Doug was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina in the summer of 1998 and Kosovo in the winter of 2000-01.Recently promoted to captain, he is now at Fort Knox for school and will move to Fort Hood, Texas, in the fall where he will take command of a tank company.UPDATEReceived an e-mail from Doug after the terrorists attack and he is still in this country and headed for Fort Hood.Also, there was a notice in the Enquirer that he had "received the Army Commendation Medal for outstanding achievement or meritorious service in the performance of this duties. Michele Lichtenberger - graduated from Notre Dame with a BS in BioChemistry, and almost a second major in theology. Her first job was at Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville, Florida teaching chemistry and religion and coached soccer and swimming.While there, Michele entered an advanced educationalprogram called Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) and graduated as Valedictorian of her class with a Masters in Education. Adam Schwartzman -graduated from Clemson University in 1997 with a B. S. in Biological Sciences.He also took part in many intramural sports, such as soccer, softball and the short-lived Clemson Water Polo Club.His first job was working at an inactive nuclear power plant on the Savannah River, just outside of Augusta, in the Environmental Monitoring Section.In the fall of 1998 he returned to Clemson as a graduate student in the Department of Environmental Toxicology, and received a Master's in that discipline.He was married in 1999 and is now living in Rockville, Maryland.He is an Environmental Scientist for the US. Jon Hansen - sent an e-mail to bring us up to date on himself and twin Kirsten.He was actually looking to see if the class of 1992 was having a reunion when he found our site.Jon graduated from the University of Colorado in International Relations in 1996.As soon as he graduatedspent a year and a half traveling.He went to Africa spending time in Kenya, Tanzania, and The Seychelles.He also traveled in Europe and worked for a short time as a translator in Barcelona, Spain.When he got back to the states he worked in Denver for two years before moving to Seattle, Washington, where he is a manager in the IT division of AT&T Wireless.Jon is training for the 2002 Vancouver B.C. triathlon in the fall, as well as enjoying kayaking and swimming.He is also a member of the Vancouver Olympic Committee to bring the 2010 Winter Olympics to British Columbia.They are a finalist for that site.(e-mail:jon.hansen@attws.com or jonhansen@metacrawler.com )(2/20/02)

Dave Costura - graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1995.While at Purdue, he played water polo for four years, competing against many Sycamore graduates.He stayed at Purdue to get a Masters degree in Computational Fluid Dynamics and Combustion.(I'm lost just trying to type it!)He says he learned a great appreciation for the phrase"It doesn't take a rocket scientist to ...." Kevin Klasmeier - graduated from University of Cincinnati with a BBA in Information Systems in 1996.He was active in several organizations in the business college, including a business fraternity and various computer related industry organizations. Greg Meyer - graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BA in International Affairs.While at UC, he swam for one season, joined the rifle team for a season and joined Air Force ROTC.Upon graduation from UC, he was commissioned in the Air Force and is currently working on his Masters in Space Studies from the University of North Dakota.Greg has been at Randolph AFB in Texas, but in two weeks he will report to Robins Air Force Base in Georgia.He will be a Flight Commander for the 93rd Logistics Support Squadron. Karen Queen Bates - graduated from Purdue University in 1995 with a degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering.She played on the men's Water Polo team for one year at Purdue and helped to start the women's team, and subsequently played on the team for two years. She worked in Indianapolis for two years, and then married Andrew Bates, who is in the Navy, and moved to Hawaii.They were transferred to Virginia Beach, where she is working for Woolpert, an engineering firm with headquarters in Dayton. Melissa Jackson Pease - graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy in 1994.She married another Academy grad, Alex Pease, and they are living in Virginia Beach. Steve Erdmann - UPDATE 8/7/03We have received word from Mrs. Erdmann that Steve has died from an accident he suffered in Egypt.Steve was riding in a bus at night on August 2, when it went out of control and flipped over.Steve was thrown through a window.He was in a hospital for 4 days and passed away on August 6 from injuries he sustained.Mr. Erdmann is in Egypt now to make arrangements to bring Steve's body back to the United States.Plans for a funeral will not be made until more information is received as to when they can expect this to happen.Anyone wishing to contact Mrs. Erdmann can write her at 7301 Nodding Way, Cincinnati, 45243.Steve had just left Africa to go to Egypt.Mrs. Erdmann stated that Steve died doing the thing he loved most - traveling around the world.

UPDATE - Steve was in town the first part of August 2000 and checked out our web site.He sent a very long message on the entire family, so check out Mark '86, and Scott '94.As for Steve, he graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt.His first job was with General Electric in Greenville, S. C..After being disillusioned with their environmental record and treatment of their employees,Steve took a job with Caterpillar in their Solar Turbine Division in San Diego, California.His job there was to working to make major reduction is NOx and CO emissions of industrial gas turbines.Turbines are used as one of the main methods of producing electricity, but also are one of the major contributors to the greenhouse effect.It wasn't all work as he had plenty of free time for scuba diving, surfing and snowboarding.He left this job to embark on a life long dream to travel the world.He has finished the first part of that leg by traveling from L. A. to Japan, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Solomon Islands, New Guinea, Hawaii and back to L.A.From there he drove cross country to Cincinnati.After getting rejuvenated, he is off again to Iceland, Europe, Africa, India, South America, and if he can Russia and China.What a journey, Steve!!Good luck!! JB Ballenger -attended Wright State for 3 years.He then came back to Cincinnati to start his coaching career.He first coached with Larry Lyons at M. E. Trish Klasmeier Schoenlein - attended Bowling Green on a swimming scholarship and graduated in 1992 in Visual Communications Technology.Trish swam for all four years at BG, which is how she met her husband, Craig.After graduating and returning to the Cincinnati area, Trish worked as a sales representative for the Queen City Awning Company.To keep in the sport of swimming, Trish swam for the Blue Ash Y Masters team and started her coaching career with the Sycamore Flying Fish , which she still continues to do.Trish and Craig had their first child, Stephanie, this past September, and she says that Stephanie is destined to be a swimmer also.Trish is now a stay-at-home mom and says she is working harder than ever.UPDATE 9/9/02Trish and Craig have their second girl, born September 3.They have named her Ashley.Trish continues to coach with the Sycamore Flying Fish.

Julie Augustin Asbeck - graduated in 1991 with a Bachelors degree in Marketing and Management.Julie has worked for several local hotels, the most recent one being the Blue Ash Hotel and Conference Center where she was Senior Sales Manager for 6 years.While at UC, Julie was on the drill team and met Chris Asbeck a football player and they were married in October 1992. Julie Haerr-Bullock -- graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 1991, with a degree in Mental Health and Human Services. I started working part-time in 1989 for Clermont County Juvenile Court and went full-time when I graduated. I worked there for 12 years before I quit to become a stay at home mom. I married in February 1991, and I have three children, Emily 11, Trevor 9, and Suzy 5. I've stayed connected to the pool when Emily turned 3 by becoming a swim instructor at the local YMCA. Dami Reams - graduated from University of Richmond in 1991 and except for a 3-year span in Virginia Beach, she has been in Richmond.She has bought a house in the city and works for Medtronic Physio-Control selling external defibrillators, "like the ones you see on ER." Dami's post high school swimming consisted of swimming for her sorority in an intramural swimming meet and setting a record for the 50 yard breast.She found this quite amusing, realizing the difference from the type of swimmer she was in high school. Meg Chisholm Rowell - graduated from Michigan with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and played soccer while there.Her first job was working for General Electric in several different areas.She left that job to go to Japan for a year teaching English in an Japanese school over there.She is now living in New Hartford, Connecticut and is married to an Englishman, John Rowell.Currently she is doing freelance work in software instruction and database consulting.Although Meg has done some Masters swim meets, she is more into doing cycling tours and is leaving in a couple weeks for a tour in England and Scotland. Mark Erdmann - UPDATEis living in Indonesia and is a Marine Biologist.He got his PhD in Marine Biology from Berkley. Mark was married to Arnaz Mehta in 1997 and they had a baby girl Mica in September 1999. Mike Hauck - attended Ohio State for three years and was a starter for theirwater polo team while he was there.In October of 1989, he joined the US Coast Guard and was stationed at Hull, Massachusetts.He was also a part of the Desert Stormconflict.After leaving the Coast Guard, he attended the Milwaukee Area Technical College and started working toward a career as a professional firefighter.Mike and Jennifer Conochalla (SHS '88) got married in May of 1993, and are now living in Liberty Township, between Hamilton and West Chester.Mike is now a firefighter/paramedic for the Village of Evendale, and Jennifer works for the Holiday Inn @ I-275 in Sharonville.July 4, 1995, they had their first child, Samantha Jane, who was joined by sister Kaily Sharon in September 1997.Mike, Jennifer and some friends have started a foundation that provides funding for cancer patients to be housed during their treatment at the UC Barrett Center.It also provides funding for research of lieomyiosarcoma, a smooth celled cancer.The foundation is the Heritage Hill Foundation, and Mike is now president.Both Mike and Jennifer are into marathons and use this way to raise money for the foundation.You can check the Heritage Hill Foundation out on the web at www.heritagehill.homestead.com.UPDATE 5/31/04Mike has recently become a YMCA Swim Official and is looking into becoming a High School Official.He is also interested in becoming a Water Polo Official.Mike ran the Flying Pig this spring in a 4:22.24.He has decided to try triathlons and will try the Half Marathon Great Buckeye Challenge in August.If all goes well, he will train for the full Ironman in Lake Placid in July 2005.Mike is going back to school to get his Bachelors of Fire Science at UC.Once that is finished, he has plans to attend Kettering Medical College and get a degree in Physician Assistance.Mike is still involved in Herritage Hill, and their new web site is:www.heritagehill.org.Also his new e-mail is:(e-mail:mjhauck@fuse.net )

Chris Higby Stewart - graduated from Miami Universitywith a Masters Degreein Paper Science Engineering. She moved to Rochester, New York and got a second Masters Degree in Applied and Mathematical Statistics from the Rochester Institute of Technology.She has been employed by Xerox Corporation for the past 7 1/2 years and is currently the Media Program Manager in the Media Technology Center.Her group designs and develops the media that Xerox sells.Chris was married in 1995 to Daniel J. Chris Hughes Kennedy - attended Bucknell for her undergraduate degree and then went to med school at Baylor University. Jack Prause - graduated from the University of Michigan in 1990 with a degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering. His first job was with International Paper Company and now is doing management consultingwith Mercer in Washington, D. C.. Paul Taylor - graduated from Miami University in 1990 with a BS degree in Business.While there, he played a year of club water polo.He took a job in Chicago in Pharmaceutical Sales with Wyeth Ayerst. He also tried Masters swimming.He says he had forgotten how difficult the sport was until he tried a 4000 yard workout for the first time since leaving Sycamore. Brad Tieke - graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1990 with a degree in Engineering Management. While at the Academy, Brad was a four year swimmer and water polo player. After leaving West Point, he was an Airborne Ranger for five years.He left the service, got his MBA in 1998.His MBA was centered around finance and operations. David Fairbanks - graduated from the University of Florida in Gainesville with a degree in Economics.While there, David swam for the Gators for 4 years and also swam in several meets representing the United States.Upon graduation, he got a sales job with Revlon (selling make-up and cologne, believe it or not ) and moved to Pensacola.A few years later, he landed a sales job in the pharmaceutical business.He worked for Johnson and Johnson who moved him to Ft. Myers, Florida.About a year later he was hired by Merck and moved to Greensboro, North Carolina.After a short stay with them, he moved back to Cincinnati with Parke-Davis.David states that he really likes the challenge of pharmaceutical sales.His specialty is cardiovascular disease.He has just purchased a home in the Sycamore district, right across from the high school, and has become a high school swimming official.He says it is his turn to follow his dad around the pool, as he is in his 21st year of officiating.David would love to hear from any of my classmates or pool buddies.UPDATE 11/2/02Dave was married on October 26.His wife, Julie, is employed by PNC Bank.They will be living in Montgomery.(e-mail:Davidatcincy@aol.com)

Laura Stanley Maines - attended Eastern Kentucky University on a swimming scholarship.During her stay there, the University did away with their swim team, but Laura continued her studies there and graduated with a BS from the College of Physical Education in Sports Medicine in 1990.She later obtained an AS from the College of Allied Health and Nursing with a degree in Emergency Medical Care.She also has certifications in Adult Fitness and Sports Supervision and Coaching.Laura is a full-time Paramedic in Kentucky and loves it.She was married to Gary Maines in 1993 and they have three children, all very active.Blake, 6, is good in baseball, basketball and swimming.Brooke, 5, tries to keep up with her brother, and Bethany, 3, tries everything and anything.Laura and her husband play softball together a couple of times a week, and she also takes him on in racquetball!Laura noticed that she still holds some records and was amazed at that.(e-mail:Medic997@aol.com)

Betty Davis McManus - graduated from University of Cincinnati with a degree in Aerospace Engineering in 1988.She was married to Mike McManus in early 1989 and they moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, but she worked at Orbital Sciences in Boulder.While there, she helped design a communication satellite constellation.They left Colorado after 12 years and have been back in Cincinnati for a year now, living in Liberty Township, which is in the Lakota School System.Betty has three children, Kara, 9; Kevin 7; and Kelly 3.She is a stay at home Mom and loves it. Kassie Hesford Corder - graduated from Miami University in 1987 with a degree in interior design.After graduating, she married Mike Corder ('82) and moved to Orlando, Florida, where she worked for a while as a commercial interior designer and then became a preschool teacher.She has now switched from that to being a personal trainer.This allows her to work on her participation in triathlons and she and Mike finished in the top 10 in 1999 in a national couples bodybuilding competition.She has two girls, Kaity 10 and Kellie 7. Debbie Miller Schmitt - went to Miami University for two years and swam there.She transferred to the University of Missouri at Rolla and graduated in 1988 with a BS in Engineering Mechanics.Her first job was in St. Louis with the Nooter Corp., and a year later she moved to Aurora, Illinois, and worked for Chicago Bridge and Iron designing pressure vessels for oil refineries.She married Greg Schmitt in 1989, a Rolla graduate.In 1994 Greg got an offer from a company in Greenville, South Carolina, so they moved there.Their first child, Jaclyn, was only a week old at the time and Debbie became a stay at home mom.Their second child Kelsey was born in 1996, and their third child, Sydney was born in November 1998.Sadly, Greg was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease in 1998, and although he went through several forms of treatment and experimental therapies that were unsuccessful, Greg passed away April 30, 2000.Debbie credits her three little girls with helping her through these trying times.(e-mail:Dlmschmitt@aol.com)

Jean Morgan Martin - graduated from University of Cincinnati in 1988 with a degree in Communication Arts.Jean has worked since graduation for Lazarus Stores (Federated) in several capacities and in several places.Her first job was here in Cincinnati as a buyer in the swimwear and active wear department.She did that until May 1995 when Lazarus merged with Richs Department Stores in Atlanta, another Federated store.Jean states that 1995 brought many lifestyle changes with it.Not only did she and her husband, Bill, have to move to Atlanta, but they also had their first child, Tori, who is now six years old.Jeanworked as a buyer for Richs for two years, and then went into the technology end of the business in 1997.She currently is a Manager of Training Technology and Development/Merchant Systems for Federated Systems Group in Duluth, Georgia.Jean and Bill had another daughter, Katie, who is 2 1/2 years old.Jean is busy with her family, but does get to train for 5K/10K races, and is looking forward to the Peachtree Road Race that is coming up.She doesn't swim, but has passed the torch to Tori who just joined a swim team and loves it.Tori likes to ask Jean if she is faster than Jean was at the same age.Jean says her answer is always "yes".(e-mail:BO3JMM@FDS.COM)7/01

Ken Stopkotte - has done some moving around in his coaching career--some of it very recently.Coaching jobs here in Cincinnati include the Anderson Barracudas, Walnut Hills H. S., Coldstream Country Club, Countryside Y, Lakota H. S., and his longest stay was eight years with the Cincinnati Marlins.Ken left the Marlins in April, 2000, and headed for sunny Florida and the Clearwater team.He discovered it wasn't the job he had anticipated, and immediately started looking for another job.He is now with a great USA program in Carmel, Indiana, which allows him to coach high school as well.While at the Marlins, he produced 11 USA Jr. National team titles, 3 top 10 team finishes at Nationals and one American Record.He also coached two of the United States swimmers in the 2000 Olympics, Erin Phenix and Nate Dusing.Ken is married to an Anderson graduate and ex-swimmer, Becky Wilson, and they have two boys, Noah 2, and Jacob 7 months.Ken speaks highly of Coach Lyons as a great mentor and role model, but more importantly a special friend in their coaching days."Fred Cooper was just one of the best people that ever lived," states Ken."He loved helping people and it showed in the way he coached and lived his life."With Purdue in the Rose Bowl this year, Ken feels he is in heaven with a big smile on his face!A final word from Ken for Coach Sullivan.Ken coached several Sycamore swimmers while he was at the Marlins, and he believes they accomplished great things because of the cooperation between Coach Sullivan and himself.He believes Coach Sullivan is the best high school coach in Ohio!!UPDATE 1/14/05I received a letter at Christmas from Ken, who no longer is coaching swimming.However, he is not far from the water - he is in the pool management business.Ken was instrumental in setting up the Greater Nashville Pool Management company, a franchise out of Atlanta, Georgia.He was very successful in that endeavor, and has decided to start his own swimming pool management company.He and his family are in the process of deciding whether to do it in Nashville or Cincinnati.If he decides to focus on residential pools, he will stay in Nashville.If he goes into commercial pools, he will head back to Cincinnati.He is also coaching with the Nashville Aquatic Club.Becky, his wife has also returned to coaching at a small private school in Nashville.Their 6 year old son, Noah, swam in a Marlin meet this past summer and won all the events in his age group.Looks like the Stopkotte name will remain active in swimming!!!  UPDATE  5/24/06  Ken is back in Indiana coaching a new team at Fishers High School.  The facility is brand new with a 50-meter indoor pool.  Ken is very excited about the potential of building this team into a highly competitive High School and USA Swimming organization.  (email:

Dave Ebeling - Dave swam for Bowling Green State University for one year, and then was given the option of quitting swimming or leaving the University.So he dropped swimming and took up Club Water Polo..Dave took the long route towards graduation, and after 5 1/2 years at BG, he journeyed south to Suwanee, Georgia.There he met his wife Nancy, who encouraged him to go back to school.He graduated Cum Laude from DeVry College in Management Information Systems.(Dave says if that sounds familiar it is because they advertise during Oprah.)He is currently working for Alltel Information Services as a software developer.Dave says:"you can find me, during the summer weekends, throughout the South backing my Diesel RV into trees and anything else unmovable.Occasionally, after parking the RV, I do the swimming portion of team triathlons with a group of friends and my 17 year old stepson." Kim Fugett Fain - is now a Mom of two lively boys (Chris ,5, and Cameron 2) and is living in Raleigh, North Carolina. Jon Saxton - graduated from Miami University in 1986 and then went to the University of Cincinnati Law School.He is now a partner at the law firm of Rendigs, Fry, Kiely & Dennis doing trial work. Rick Ehrlich - went to Iowa State University and graduated from there in 1987 with a degree in Speech Communications. Lisa Dunlap Fisher - is back living in Mason, Ohio, after being in California for several years.Lisa has two children; Leigh-Ann, 17, a senior at Mason H. Dave Uible - In the Sunday Enquirer on October 15, 2000, a wonderful article was printed about Dave, his wife (Cindy Cassell) and daughter (Emma), and what they are doing more as a hobby than as job.Both Dave and Cindy have their own jobs.I have taken the liberty of putting this in and I hope to make contact with Dave in the near future.Dave and his wife are living in New Richmond on an 175 acre farmThey are raising buffalo and have about 70 head in their herd.The article tells about their efforts not only in raising buffalo, but in trying to sell the meat.They have found several stores that will carry it and seven or so restaurants that will serve it.Not only does he raise the animals, but he also grows hay on about 80 acres of the farm, which he uses to feed the buffalo during the winter.Dave's real jobs have included starting several computer related companies, including a medical publishing company in Moscow, Russia, for the Russian Ministry of Health.In January, 2000, he sold a communications company he bought in 1997, and now is spending time investing in other people's ideas.UPDATEDave and his wife have introduced a new breakfast sausage with buffalo meet.For those locally that may be interested, Dave's wife, who is a licensed dietitian, will be giving a demonstration on Buffalo recipes at the Tri-Health Pavilion on Thursday, April 16.You may register with Tri-Health whether you are a member there or not.UPDATE 6/15/04Another newspaper article in the Cincinnati Enquirer updates Dave's efforts with raising buffalo, as well as with his "real job".With the new low-carb diets being so popular, Dave's business is doing very well.Recently Dave and his wife bought a restaurant themselves, as well as supplying other restaurants.In some of these restaurants, buffalo burgers are outnumber beef burgers.Dave is now helping struggling small companies to turn around through his business, Uible Management.(e-mail:uibled@yahoo.com)

Steve Ebeling - (Dave, Steve's brother, see class '82, wrote this for Steve.)Steve attended several colleges after graduating from Sycamore, but didn't find what he really wanted to do until after meeting his wife Kathy a Princeton graduate.Steve became a anesthetist and moved to Pueblo, Colorado.After several years, Steve, Nancy, and their boys, Josh and Danny, decided to try the sunny South and moved to Naples, Florida, so they could scuba dive more often.Having had enough of hot weather and sandy beaches, they have moved back to Colorado, except for their oldest boy, Josh, who is attending Georgia Tech.

Karen Hillen Staursky - 1/26/08  After graduating from Sycamore, I attended Indian River Junior College in Ft Pierce, FL for two years, then transferred to Miami University, Oxford, Ohio and graduated with a BS in Business in 1980. While in Florida, I swam for the school and during the two years that I was there the women were Junior College NCAA champions. I swam butterfly and freestyle.  After college, I married Geoffrey Staursky, and we moved to Denver, Colorado. We have 3 children, Anna, Joe and Leah. After moving around a bit, Colorado, Wyoming, and Minnesota, we moved by to Columbus, Ohio where we have lived since 1998. I swim with the Columbus Sharks masters swim team and compete whenever I can. I have worked as an assistant coach for the Dublin Community Swim Team since 2002. My oldest daughter is a Cincinnati Bearcat and swims for the university. My son swims for the Dublin Jerome High School and my youngest daughter prefers to play volleyball.   (email - khstaursky@hotmail.com)

Jim Ritter - graduated from Sycamore the first year they had a pool!!!J im currently lives in Columbus, Ohio, and is an Investment Analyst for the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio.He is married to Susan Flerlage, a former Cincinnati Marlin, and he has three children - all of whom swim.Jim and Susan's oldest boy swims for St. Charles High School in Columbus. Tod Leonard - graduated from University of Michigan where he swam for one year and played water polo for three.Tod actually swam for Sycamore before there was a team or a pool.Tod, and fellow classmate Jeff Smith, represented Sycamore at the state meet in 1971 and 1972.Currently Tod is Vice President of Sales for Changing Paradigms, a small manufacturing company in West Chester.Tod lives in Blue Ash and has two children in Sycamore schools, Alison, a junior, and Drew, entering 6th grade.Tod, like many others, rarely swims, but he does jog and bike.(e-mail:tleonard@cinci.rr.com)
